Smallville

Smallville is a television series that tells the origins of Superman, the famous DC Comics superhero. The series follows the adventures of Clark Kent (Tom Welling), a boy living in the small town of Smallville, Kansas, who discovers that he has extraordinary powers derived from his alien nature. Clark must face the typical problems of adolescence, such as love, friendship, school and family, but also the threats of various enemies who want to exploit or destroy his gifts. Among them stands out Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), the son of a powerful tycoon who will become the main antagonist of him.

The series consists of ten seasons, broadcast from 2001 to 2011, for a total of 217 episodes. Each season has a main storyline that unfolds throughout the episodes, but also side stories that delve deeper into the characters and their relationship with Clark. The series also introduces many other heroes and villains from the DC Comics universe, such as Lois Lane (Erica Durance), Clark's future mate, Kara (Laura Vandervoort), his Kryptonian cousin, Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley), the archer known as the Green Arrow, and Zod (Callum Blue), the rebel general from Clark's home planet.

Smallville is a series that I really liked because it was able to reinvent the Superman myth in a modern and realistic key, showing the difficulties and responsibilities of being a hero. The series also has a great cast of actors who make the characters believable and charismatic. The series also has some spectacular action scenes and amazing special effects for a television production. The series also has an excellent soundtrack that accompanies the emotions of the characters and dramatic or funny situations.

However, the series also has flaws, such as some inconsistencies in the plot, some repetitive or uninteresting episodes, and some underdeveloped or exploited characters. The series has also undergone changes over the seasons that have altered the original spirit of the story. Some fans criticized the choice to never show Clark wearing the Superman costume or flying until the last episode.

In conclusion, Smallville is a series that I recommend to all lovers of superheroes and Superman in particular. It is a series that offers entertainment, emotion, adventure and fantasy. It is a series that celebrates the positive values of heroism, friendship, love and family. It is a series that has left its mark on popular culture and deserves to be watched or reviewed.
