It is a queer love story set in an old western town in the early 20th century, inspired by the western genre and Ang Lee's film Brokeback Mountain.  The short tells the reunion of two former mercenaries, Jake (Hawke) and Silva (Pascal), who had loved each other in an era when this love could not even be pronounced. Silva goes to see Jake, who is now the sheriff of the city, with the excuse of reuniting with his childhood friend, but in reality he has an ulterior motive: to dissuade him from chasing his son among the suspects of a murder.  The short was shot in southern Spain, in a set built by Sergio Leone for the Dollar Trilogy, and is Almodóvar's second English-language experience after The Human Voice in 2020.  Austin Powers is a fun parody of sixties spy films, especially those with James Bond.  The protagonist is Austin Powers, an English secret agent who follows the fashion and women of Carnaby Street.  His enemy is Doctor Evil, a mad scientist who wants to conquer the world with his sinister plans.  When Doctor Evil hibernates and awakens in 1997, Austin does the same to stop him.  But he finds himself lost in a world very different from the one he knew.  With the help of Vanessa Kensington, daughter of his former partner, Austin will have to face the dangers of Doctor Evil and his henchmen, including the seductive Annabella Fagina and the mysterious Number 2.  The film is a hilarious comedy, full of jokes, comic situations and cultural references to the sixties.  Mike Myers plays both Austin Powers and Doctor Evil, demonstrating his versatility and comedic talent of him.  The film was a huge box office success and spawned two sequels: Austin P...
